State Issues: New Jersey Bureau of Securities Proposed Rules for Readoption of the Securities Statute

Overview:
The New Jersey Bureau of Securities issued for comment proposed rules for readoption of the Securities Statute.  The New Jersey Securities Statute is currently scheduled to expire on September 13, 2008.  The proposed rules include a number of technical amendments, an increase in registration fees and the addition of a new provision on unethical practices.

Position:
SIFMA is currently reviewing the proposed regulations.

Status:
The proposed regulations were published in the New Jersey Register on Monday, April 21, 2008.  The comment period closes on June 20, 2008.
