SIFMA, the Futures Industry Association (FIA), the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA), and the Managed Funds Association (MFA) provide comments to the leadership of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture on the reauthorization of the Commodity Exchange Act. The groups support the reauthorization and recommend that the Committee resist proposed amendments that would upset the careful balance between prudent changes and changes which could stifle markets and harm American economic competitiveness. The groups also caution against any amendments that would cause a deviation from the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets (PWG) framework.
