Abby Slonecker

SVP and Chief of Staff, Member Supervision and Lead of Office of Strategy and Program Risk,, FINRA

Abby Slonecker is an experienced leader who thrives on implementing new functions — leveraging new technology while designing for efficiency and scale. As chief of staff and Senior Vice President for FINRA’s Member Supervision , Abby is responsible for executing the department’s strategic vision and heads the Office Strategy and Program Risk.  This office is made up of five functional teams and includes a staff of over one hundred people.   

Abby has served in strategic and operational roles at some of the world’s fastest-growing and most innovative companies, including Salesforce, where she led legal in strategic initiatives, including the transition to public cloud (AWS, Azure) from Salesforce-run data centers; Tableau, where she built out the legal compliance and disputes functions; Expedia, where she managed consumer and technology litigation; and T-Mobile, where she advised and built out a new regulatory operations group. Earlier in her career, Abby spent five years practicing law at Bingham McCutchen focusing on white collar investigations and securities defense before moving in-house to be closer to the businesses she was advising. She serves on the board of the Mother Attorney Mentoring Association and is a member of Chief.  An avid runner, Abby lives in Seattle with her husband and three children.
