John Burns

John Burns is currently a Managing Director and serves as Head of Non-Financial Risk & Chief Compliance Officer for Morgan Stanley’s U.S. Banks.  John has been with Morgan Stanley for 12 years.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, John spent seven years in New York as Head of Compliance for Bank of America/Merrill Lynch’s GWIM Banking & Lending and U.S. Trust divisions.

Prior to Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, he spent ten years at The CIT Group in New Jersey where he held several senior bank regulatory compliance positions.

Mr. Burns holds a BS in Economics from Penn State University and an MBA from Capella University.

He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for FC Pocono, a non-profit soccer club serving the needs of over 1,500 youth soccer players throughout the northeast.  He is also a founding member.
