Afzal Memon

Afzal Memon, Vice President, is a member of the JP Morgan Market Operations digital innovation and strategy group. As part of the team, he is focused on industry wide fintech integrations, embeds ML algo’s into the strategic stack, uses ML for data analysis, automated business analysis, leads an innovation program to train operations users to identify and automate manual processes to complement the strategic stack.

Afzal has a bachelor’s in economics and master’s in finance and has been in the finance industry for 15+ years. Prior to JPM, he has experience with BNP Paribas, Barclays Capital and hedge funds. He has traded cash equities for hedge funds, lead system migrations, worked on multiple reg initiatives, entity migrations, scaling automation programs and automating manual processes.

In his spare time, Afzal likes to run, cycle, play tennis and Cricket. He is also an active member of the Lions club, a charity that helps local communities and raised money for the earthquake relief in Turkey with them. He ran the London Marathon in 2022 to raise money for the charity Get Kids Going, that helps disabled children get into sports. Sports has played a big part in Afzal’s life and believes everyone should get the opportunity to take part.
