Bill Hughes

Bill Hughes is a Managing Director of Nomura and Head of Operations for the Americas based in New York. He has been with Nomura since 2018.

Prior to joining Nomura, Bill had spent the previous year working as an independent consultant for Millennium Management, a global investment firm.  His primary focus was improving operational efficiency.

Previously, he spent 10 years with Credit Suisse in various senior roles within Global Operations.  His last role was as Head of Operations for the Global Markets and Investment Banking and Capital Markets divisions for their Americas and EMEA regions.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Bill spent 15 years within Lehman Brothers in various roles with Operations.  He also spent several years at Hilliard Farber & Company.  He began his career as an account manager with Marine Midland Bank.

Bill holds an MBA in Finance/International Business from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from St. John’s University.
