Devin Ryan

Devin Ryan is an Assistant Director in the SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets. He leads the Office of Legal Counsel which falls within the Division’s Chief Counsel’s Office. Before his current role, Devin served as counsel to prior Division Directors and started his time with the Commission in the Chief Counsel’s Office of Sales Practices. Prior to joining the Commission, Devin was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York and also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Henry B. Pitman, then a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Southern District of New York. Devin has a B.S. in Marine Engineering Systems from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.
