Matthew Williams

Matthew is a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC. As a member of the Tax Planning & Advisory Group, he advises on the taxation of financial products and cross border transactions and financing arrangements. Matthew joined Goldman Sachs in 2014 and was named Managing Director in 2023.

Prior to joining the firm, Matthew worked as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York from 2010 to 2014. Previously, he served as a clerk to Hon. Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald, on the District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Matthew earned a B.A. from Oxford University, and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
