Senior Director, Risk Advisory, Moody’s RMS

Dr. Charlotte Acton joined Moody’s RMS in 2009 and leads the Risk Advisory function within Moody’s RMS Advisory Services, working with Moody’s RMS clients across the (re)insurance, financial, corporate and public sectors to apply catastrophe and climate analytics to risk management and risk transfer use cases. Charlotte’s other focus areas include the use of analytics in climate change risk assessment and reporting across sectors, parametric insurance and resilience finance.

Charlotte started her career with a focus on capital markets and has worked in ILS for more than 14 years. Charlotte has led Moody’s RMS involvement in transactions across the full range of trigger types and perils from first of their kind parametric storm surge and earthquake bonds to excess mortality and longevity risk. Moody’s RMS Risk Advisory recently expanded the 144A remodeling services to investors to include cyber, also acting as modeling agent on one of the market’s first 144A cyber cat bonds.

Charlotte holds a masters in Natural Sciences and a PhD in seismology from the University of Cambridge and is a published author in peer-reviewed journals.
