Chris Jay joined Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 2009 after obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Seattle University.  He became the first Financial Advisor in the Pacific Northwest to graduate from the firm’s three-year Practice Management Development program, and now leads The Jay Bergeson Group as its managing partner.  He holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designation from the Investments & Wealth Institute™, and was named to Forbes’ list of America’s Top Next-Generation Wealth Advisors in 2018 and to the Forbes Best-in-State Next-Generation Wealth Advisors list in 2019.

Chris drives the group’s focus on creating time for clients, and believes it is essential to providing superior wealth management.  He finds that “the time we strive to manufacture” for clients can free them from needless worry and help them focus on the people and passions that bring them joy and fulfillment.

Chris has always believed in giving back, and dedicates his time outside of serving clients in many ways.  He is currently a member of the Merrill Diversity & Inclusion Executive Council and the Bank of America Global NextGen Council.  He is also Chair of the Board of Directors of BlackPast.org and a Director of KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio where he sits on the Finance Committee.  He remains connected to his alma mater by serving as a mentor to undergraduate and graduate business students through the Albers School of Business & Economics Mentor Program.
