Debra Guarino
Debra Guarino is a Managing Director for BNY Pershing, in Operations. In this role, she oversees the Trade Processing, Regulatory Oversight, Information Delivery and Managed Accounts Operations teams responsible for regulatory order and trade reporting, trade surveillance, trade processing, trade confirmations, managed accounts trading and operations and information delivery including customer statements.
Previously, she served as compliance officer in the BNY Trading Compliance Shared Service group providing advice to Pershing’s agency trading desks, driving improvement in our surveillance and regulatory programs, and collaborating closely with clients and industry constituents.
Prior to joining Pershing in 2010, Debra worked at Bear Stearns as a Managing Director in Derivative Operations responsible for a global operations team which supported the equity, municipal, interest rate, mortgage, and credit derivative trading desks globally. With the acquisition of Bear Stearns by JPMorgan, Debra was given the lead operations role in the migration of all derivative positions from the Bear Stearns books and records to JPMorgan.
Mrs. Guarino is the Chair of SIFMA’s Operations and Technology Committee and a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute® program, sponsored by SIFMA, at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In 2021 she was a recipient of ThinkAdvisor’s Luminaries award for Executive Leadership. Debra earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management & Finance from Brooklyn College.
