Fassil Begashaw is an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley responsible for the oversight and execution of financial crimes advisory for Institutional Securities Group (ISG), including supporting the day-to-day aspects of the Global Financial Crimes (GFC) program. His coverage includes Investment Banking, Global Capital Markets, Fixed Income, Commodities, Public Finance, Institutional Equities, and Morgan Stanley Fund Services (MSFS). Mr. Begashaw is a standing AML representative on Firm’s New Product Review Committee. Mr. Begashaw also serves as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for MSFS Cayman and has reporting responsibilities to the MSFS Board of Directors. Mr. Begashaw previously also covered the Morgan Stanley Investment Management Group (MSIM) with primary focus on private side investments, transfer agents, and new product reviews. Mr. Begashaw has over 13 years in the AML and Compliance industry; prior to Morgan Stanley he previously held roles in risk and compliance and served as Deputy Chief Compliance Officer at Highland Financial Holdings Group, LLC, a large investment adviser. Mr. Begashaw earned his BA from Brown University and is Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
