Jayant W. Tambe
Jay Tambe, who serves as leader of Jones Day’s Financial Markets Practice, advises financial institutions on litigations concerning complex financial products including derivatives, credit default swaps, collateralized debt and loan obligations (CDOs and CLOs). He has litigated significant claims involving derivatives and structured finance investments in the New York state and federal courts, including many precedent-setting CDO litigations. He also led the team that prevailed in the very first appeal before ISDA’s external review panel for CDS. For nearly 10 years Jay represented Lehman Bros. Holdings, Inc. and its affiliated debtors in more than 50 separate derivatives disputes, including several evidentiary hearings and trials. Jay also represents global financial institutions in the defense of antitrust class actions on products such as municipal bonds, corporate bonds, CDS, and interest rates. Jay routinely provides prelitigation advice and training on practices and procedures, documentation and risk mitigation.
