Jody Jonsson

Jody Jonsson is Vice Chair of Capital Group and President of Capital Research Management Company. In these roles, she plays an important role in Capital’s public-facing activities, including industry and government affairs, global client and distribution relationships, and engagement with external partners. She is also the Principal Investment Officer and a portfolio manager for New Perspective Fund. Earlier in her career, she was an investment analyst covering insurance, restaurants and lodging, and consumer products companies.

Jody has been with Capital for 33 years and has worked in San Francisco,Geneva, London, and Los Angeles. Prior to Capital, she worked forFidelity Management & Research and Irving Trust Company. She is onthe Investment Company Institute (ICI) Board of Governors and is amember of the ICI Executive Committee, the American Enterprise Institute Board of Trustees, the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council, and the board of Alpha USA. She holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BA from Princeton University.
