John Rodefeld
John is a 40-year industry professional who spent the majority of his career at Salomon Brothers (1983-1998) and Barclays Bank (1998-2016). After he retired from Barclays in 2017, he co-founded Kingfield Corporation, a fintech start-up that he continues to build today. John has spent his entire career within the financial industry operations area and is considered a market expert across most products, services, and functional activity within the industry’s support infrastructure.
During his time at Salomon and Barclays, John was directly responsible at different periods for regional and global operations teams including New Accounts/KYC, Emerging Markets Operations, Corporate Actions, FX Operations, Funding/Liquidity Support, Collateral Management, Network Management, OTC Derivatives Operations, Instrument Reference Data, Loan Operations, Exchange Traded Operations, Securities Settlement and Tax Operations. At Barclays, his responsibilities also included managerial oversight of operational teams in Mexico, Brazil, Russia and other local markets. In addition, John was tasked with starting up a Client Service organization and was ultimately responsible for the support relationships with the firm’s top 50 revenue clients.
As a co-founder of Kingfield, John is the primary designer of a new common application technology environment that provides clients and their service agents with the capability to case-manage, workflow, message and report on multiple back-office operational tasks.
John holds an MBA from Pace University. He currently sits on a residential co-op board and has previously been on the boards of several industry groups, market initiatives and charitable causes. He is married with three grown children.
