Jon Cherry

President, Northern Trust Securities, Inc.

Jon is the President of Northern Trust Securities, Inc. (NTSI) and serves as the Chairman of its Board of Directors. He is tasked with steering NTSI’s growth and profitability, spearheading strategic initiatives, and managing the North American Brokerage franchise.

Since joining Northern Trust in 2015, Jon has been instrumental in founding the North American Options business. Under his leadership, the Derivates business has expanded into a global operation that caters to Institutional Asset Owners, Asset Managers, and wealth Management clients, offering comprehensive execution solutions and support for Index, ETF, and Single-Stock options.

Before joining Northern Trust, Jon led The Cherry Group, a high-performing sales and trading team known for developing and implementing sophisticated options strategies tailored for banks, hedge funds, and investment managers.

Jon is actively involved in industry leadership and governance. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and Roosevelt University. Additionally, Jon is an elected member of FINRA’s Mid-West Regional Committee, contributing his expertise to shape the future of financial regulations and standards.
