Julia Prus Hostelley

Senior Vice President, Federal Government Relations, Bank of America

Julia Hostelley is the Public Policy Lead for tax policy on the Federal Government Relations team at Bank of America. In this role, Julia is responsible for managing the Bank’s relationship with federal elected officials and their staffs, with a specific focus on the tax-writing committees in Congress. This includes working closely with the Bank’s business units to analyze the impacts of federal tax legislation on the Bank and its customers, shareholders, and associates, and effectively communicating those impacts back to Congress.

Prior to joining Bank of America, Julia served as the Tax Legislative Assistant for Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma. In this role, Julia was responsible for advising the Senator on tax policy, including developing legislation, participating in stakeholder meetings, engaging with the U.S. Treasury Department, and preparing the Senator for Senate Finance Committee activity. Prior to her time with Senator Lankford, Julia served as a Special Advisor in the Office of Legislative Affairs at the U.S. Treasury Department, where she acted as a liaison between the Department and Congress, including managing requests for technical assistance, hosting briefings, and communicating key guidance, with a specific focus on implementation of the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act and multiple coronavirus relief packages.

Julia began her time in Washington, DC in the office of Congressman Brad Wenstrup, where she held multiple roles, including serving as his Legislative Director and handling the tax portfolio for his Ways & Means Committee membership.

Julia was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has a B.A. in Political Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
