Karen Pelzer
Karen C. Pelzer is the Head of Bank Regulatory Legal, Americas and a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank. She joined the bank in January 2023 and advises group-wide on U.S. bank regulatory matters.
Ms. Pelzer joined Deutsche Bank from Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York, where she was a counsel in the firm’s Financial Institutions Group and advised U.S. and foreign clients on a range of U.S. bank regulatory issues and financial reform.
Prior to joining Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, Ms. Pelzer was an associate at Hengeler Mueller in Frankfurt, Germany.
Ms. Pelzer graduated from Columbia Law School in 2012 with an LLM degree. She holds a PhD in law from the University of Bonn, Germany, an MBA from the University of Hagen, Germany, and is qualified to practice law in both the United States and Germany.
Ms. Pelzer is admitted to the New York Bar.
