Kate Pope

Kate serves as the Head of Enterprise Compliance and a member of the Compliance Leadership Team within Vanguard’s Office of the General Counsel. Prior to joining Vanguard in 2021, Kate spent six years with the Office of Examinations in the Philadelphia office of the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, where she conducted over 100 examinations of investment companies, investment advisers, private funds, and other registrants within the Mid-Atlantic region. Before her work at the SEC, Kate managed a team as a Senior Compliance Officer at Delaware Investments in Philadelphia and also worked as a Litigation Associate with Dilworth Paxson, LLP.

Kate earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and her B.A. in Government from Smith College in Northampton, MA. An avid athlete, she was selected to represent the USA as a member of the 2006 U.S. Women’s National Rugby World Cup Team. These days, she has traded her rugby boots for her Peloton and spends her free time with her wife and two daughters at their home in Mount Airy in the northwest corner of Philadelphia.
