Kim Chamberlain
Ms. Chamberlain is Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, State Government Relations at SIFMA. She serves as the primary staff advisor to the State Regulation & Legislation Committee and as a general advisor to the State Tax and the State & Local Business Committees.
Prior to joining SIFMA, Ms. Chamberlain was the Deputy Director of Government Affairs for United Technologies, where she lobbied Congress and the Administration on aviation, defense and trade issues. She was also a senior associate at the D.C. Office of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, where she lobbied Congress and the Administration on behalf of numerous Fortune 500 companies and helped clients prepare for congressional investigations. She was a member of the Transportation Cluster for the Clinton-Gore Transition Team in 1992, and she assisted in the restructuring of the Texas State Office in Washington, D.C. following the 1994 election of then Governor George Bush.
Ms. Chamberlain graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Dickinson College, where she double-majored in Political Science and Policy and Management Studies. She received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she graduated Order of the Coif (top 10% of her class) and was Notes Editor of the Virginia Law Review.
