Mike Dougherty

Mike Dougherty is a Managing Director and Head of the Product Operations & Services (PO&S) group within Wealth Management Operations. In this capacity, he partners with business, technology, and other support leaders from across Wealth Management to deliver industry-leading product capabilities to Morgan Stanley Advisor teams and their individual and corporate clients. Specifically, he is responsible for the operational and service support model for Mutual Funds, 529s, UITs, Alternative Investments, Retirement Services, Insurance and Annuities, Advisory Operations (Core & Institutional), Account Closure Services, and Estate & Inheritor Services. Additionally, Mike manages the teams responsible for Retirement and Estates Operations functions on the E*TRADE platform.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in mid-2019, Mike spent 23 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he held a variety of senior leadership roles, including more than seven years as the Head of U.S. Trust Operations, three years as Head of EMEA Wealth Management Operations based in the United Kingdom, and several years as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Global Wealth & Investment Management Technology & Operations.

Mike is involved in several industry organizations (SIFMA, NICSA, DTCC, etc.) from both a business and philanthropic perspective, and dedicates significant time to coaching and mentoring the next generation of industry leaders at all levels. He and is his family also take pride in supporting a wide variety of charitable efforts focused on children’s health, law enforcement, community food security, and other important causes.

Mike is based in New York City and lives at the shore in New Jersey.
