Nicole James Gilchrist

Nicole leads the legal team that advises and supports Thrivent’s insurance solutions, distribution, and operations divisions. This includes Thrivent’s life, health and annuity product management, its network of financial advisors, broker-dealer and investment advisers serving retail investors, compensation and recognition programs, advisor recruiting, and wholesaling; and its operations that serves client and financial advisor needs. From 2004 – 2015, she held several legal roles at Ameriprise Financial, Inc. advising its dually registered broker dealer and investment adviser with a focus on financial planning services, managed account programs, brokerage, and clearing broker-dealer matters.
In addition, Nicole serves as the chair of the Mitchell Hamline School of Law Board of Trustees and provides pro bono legal services to individuals by volunteering with non-profit organizations. Nicole is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and William Mitchell College of Law and is admitted to practice law in Minnesota.
