Theresa Seys

Theresa Seys is the Chief Conflicts Officer for Ameriprise Financial as well as Lead Chief Counsel leading the Retail and Corporate Retirement and Experienced Advisor Recruiting practice group in the Ameriprise General Counsel’s Organization. She joined Ameriprise in 2003 and has over 19 years of experience as legal counsel for large global financial services companies. She was previously appointed by the Secretary of Labor to serve on the ERISA Advisory Council to the Department of Labor. Members of the ERISA Advisory Council are nationally recognized experts who focus on issues important to Americans regarding retirement and health care security.  She testified at both the 2011 and 2015 Department of Labor public hearings on their DOL Fiduciary rule and has been on Capitol Hill and to the White House to advocate and educate regarding the role of financial advisors in helping Americans achieve a secure retirement. She is a graduate of Macalester College and received her law degree from the University of Minnesota.
