Travis J. Iles

Travis J. Iles currently serves as the eighth Securities Commissioner of Texas, being appointed in August 2017. Prior to this position, he acted as the agency’s Deputy Commissioner. Travis was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2002 after completing undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Iowa – “Go Hawks.” Travis began working for the Texas State Securities Board in October 2001 as a staff attorney in the Inspections & Compliance Division. In 2004, he began serving in the Enforcement Division and later became the Assistant Director in 2009. Travis routinely adjudicated matters before the State Office of Administrative Hearings, served as a Special Assistant District Attorney for various Texas counties for trial and appellate matters, and worked closely with federal law enforcement and assisted their trial teams. Previously he performed duties for various North American Securities Administrators Association work groups including being on the advanced litigation training faculty, federal legislation committee, and has served on its Board of Directors.
