Course Description Creating a good business case is necessary to help leaders make good decisions on allocating resources. A good business plan is also a blueprint for success. This module will explain the key elements of a business case and discuss how to evaluate and measure business impact. Four key elements such as the market and business opportunity, link to competitive advantage, communicating a business / economic / operating model and ability to implement will be discussed. A shark-tank like exercise will be used as a case exercise to give practice on developing executive summaries of ideas to be funded. We will also explore the concept of risk to understand and communicate the uncertainties of a business case using a real world case example. This will be a practical session focused on the qualitative elements that can be used to better inform and evaluate the business cases you submit and review.
