Course Description In this session we will introduce a scenario-based methodology for strategic planning under conditions of high uncertainty. Topics covered will include:- Why great companies fail and how successful firms respond to change
- The value of optionality and peripheral vision
- The need for challenging old mental models
- Capturing strategic uncertainty through scenarios
- Choosing the right battles through strategic segmentation; and
- Developing a strategic vision from robust, flexible capabilities.
- To recognize the pitfalls associated with planning for a single future.
- To learn a systematic process that enables the construction of future industry scenarios.
- To learn how to use scenarios in developing strategic competencies and options.
